The Story

Once, there were two very different little girls, Alix and Cindy, who worked for the same ad agency. Despite their differences, each agreed that the other was just fabulous - and they became fast friends. Years passed and the two became even more fabulous.

One day, Alix was hanging out in the park with another fabulous friend, when her friend bent over to pick up her son and flashed Alix her thong. They both laughed, and her friend said, "Don't you hate it when you lean over and all anyone can see is the back of your thong?" Suddenly Alix had a fantastic idea. If you're gonna flash your thong, why not flash it with style? She called her pal Cindy - and Smart Ass was born.

Time passed and Smart Ass was sold across the land. Fans of Smart Ass were created far and wide. People wrote in saying how much they loved Smart Ass. However, like in any great fairy tale there was a dark side. The name Smart Ass opened many doors (the Donny Deutsch show for one), it also closed some too. Some stores worried that having a brand with "ass" in the name might offend their customers. Strange, thought Alix & Cindy, when it's underwear we're talking about. There were also difficulties online. It seems some people are searching for other things other than funny underwear when they type the words Smart Ass into their search engines.

The two soon realized that they weren’t really selling lingerie but gifts and sentiments. “Customers told us about parties where they would give a pair of “bottoms up” or “domestic diva” and it would steal the show and get everyone talking”, says Alix. The two recognized that Smart Ass undies were perfect for those who wanted a gift that was not only fun, but also said something special about the person receiving it.

“After all,” says Alix “greeting cards get tossed, flowers wilt, and chocolates go straight to the hips.
